Canada Relocation

It was 1974 when I first came to Canada and it was somewhat easy to become a landed immigrant back then, today, I'm really not sure. I know it is a lot more difficult and does take some time.

As for our health care..... I have to be fair in saying that I have no other health care to compare to but I do feel very fortunate in what we have here. Again though, many people complain constantly about our system and how they have such long wait times to be seen by specialists, emergency waiting times, etc. but my experience has always been very positive for cf care here in Ontario.

i'm born and raised in canada , and right now it depends a great deal on what part of the country you you live in . in the west right now theres a boom going on .. so we have some infastructure issues , not enough workers in all types of area of work , and our doctor 's ,speacialists are over worked and not enough doctors. where i live for eg: this town has infastructure setup for about 35 thousand people , there are about 100 thousand people here ... so because of the lack of family physicians ,when people are sick with something minor they have to use the emergency... usually a 7 to 8 hour wait . there are line ups every where here.. for a coffee at tim hortons , usually wait times are 30 mins. there are lots of jobs here , but its not a very good place to live if you don't have alot of patience.

Thank you all for the information it is very much apreciated, i think both our country's have good care. I will move wherever a job takes me but the Otawa is where we prefer. Can anyone shed some light on if any specialist centre is in this area, and any info on finding a job.

Thanks

I live in Calgary Alberta now and have been extremely pleased with the excellent care we recieved from the CF team at the Alberta Children's Hospital. If you check out the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website there are regional CF clinics at hospitals all across Canada. They all seem to operate on a similar model.

I like our city and climate with great recreation available in the rockies nearby. Plus the economy is still going strong - lots of jobs, low taxes etc. But housing is expensive due to a price spike a few years ago, and city infrastructure is always playing catch-up due to the high growth rate.
