I'm sorry to hear the extra battle you are against.

We have had other members have cancer......dont recall if it was thyroid tho. Believe it was pancreatic...

As JennifersHope (our dear RN) points out....IF you have to have a cancer this seems the easiest to deal with & treat!

And not to give you more bad news. I'm not sure what shape your lungs are in and if you are nearing transplant or not but I believe most transplant centers require that you be cancer free for 5 YEARS before you can get listed.

So don't delay - get rid of that cancer! Keep your chin up and take extra good care of those lungs.

I also had a tumor on my thyroid. At the time, prior to biopsy, I was told by multiple doctors that if it was cancerous, it was the best cancer to acquire (which will always sound odd to me, even as I am typing this).

The thyroid tumor I had was benign (not cancersou), but I did have a partial thyroidechtomy (right lobe was removed). I have my thyroid levels checked yearly, and have not required hormone replacement therapy.

Hang in there - you will get through this.
Thyroid cancer carries a great prognosis.
