I have been coughing up more than usual and dark in colour for three weeks. culture results Candida. My stupid Dr won't give me IVs and my PfTs are down from 71% to 64%.

he got his secretary to ring me and she informed me "Professor won't give IVs for candida and to do another culture", which I did on Fri. What does your Doc do. I feel I need my IVs and he is delayng time. I don't have energy to do much and the cough at night time is dreadful.
What would your Dr. do?

Our doctor also would not treat Candida with IV antibiotics but did have him do amphotericin nebs. It was all the antibiotics that caused the candida to flourish. We treated Josh's candida by using mega probiotics , herbal supplements and changing his diet. Changing the ph of your body helps the good bacteria come back. Josh drank lemon water several times a day, cut way down on sugars and drank green smoothies. He felt a lot better after about a month.

Hi Jane,

A question to ask you.

I stopped a lomg time ago taking probiotics and went back on today, but I thought if it was only effecting my stomach it wouldnt my lungs? I really didn't exspect it to culture in my lungs like why would it? Maybe a stupid question.
Had my green juice today cucumber, celery, apple it was all I could find in the juice store.

Thanks.

Hi paulina, candida of the lungs grows because of our poor immune systems allowing the bad bacteria to overgrow the good. This is exacerbated by our constant a/b use. Candida is a fungus and loves sweet acid environments. A little word of warning about the juices though in order to alkalize you need smoothies not juice. Juice is mostly just sugar. In order to be dedicated to it you might want to invest in a good blender best of luck. Its a tough battle but one worth fighting
