You WILL NEED - a power cord with the capabilities of hooking up to 4-5 electrical appliances. I learned this the hard way. You won't be able to multitask otherwise.

The cruises that Kurt and I have been on normally have 1 maybe 2 outlets in the bathroom and 2 in the room itself. with the power cord you can neb, vets, dry your hair and charge your camera battery at the same time and not have to decide which one will take priority.

Also try to pack as little extra crap as possible. The room are small and with EVERYTHING that you HAVE to take it will take up a lot of space then add to it the amount of stuff you want to bring - the cute outfits, the shoes, the bathing suits what have you.

Bring a jacket or sweater or sweatshirt as well. It is hotter than hades during the day but the nights can get VERY windy especially if you are wanting to spend ANY time on the top deck. Also to add to that a pair of pants to go with the jacket inthe event that you weren't planning on taking either of those things.

Purell and wipes are not a bad idea but I will say that the cruises that Kurt and I have been on have both at every eating location and REQUIRE the guests to use them before entering the eating facility - it may just be the ones we have gone on so I would be prepared either way.

That is really all I have but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring the power cord. I didn't the first time and had a horrible time trying to juggle what to use and when and what got the outlet and what didn't. Even if you ONLY had a camera and videocamera you would need a power cord so you could charge them easily at the same time.... oh and try to smuggle your own water or juice bottles on the ship.

Some of the cruises we have gone on will give you free drinks all the time in CERTAIN locations - then there would be restaurants that would charge if you went during nonmeal hours. Even if you just pack enough water or apple juice or whatever containers for each of you to have a few a day it will help with some of the expense. That and it will look like you are packing alot BUT you will be able to throw them away and it will leave space for you to pack souvenirs on your way home. Same thing goes with snack foods. If there is something you like to snack on at night take it with you (if it is disposable like crackers or chips or something like that) it will make it stress free for you in the event you get hungry at night and need something and don't want to call or pay for room service or can't find anything to eat.

As for the O2 you can talk to your doc and or the cruiseline and see what kind of O2 would be okay to bring on the flight. The problem with liquid O2 is that you have to have a hugemungous concentrator to fill up the tanks and the tanks themselves only last a few hours - maybe 4 max 5. There are portable concentrators that you can maybe rent from your provider - they are actually supposed to make any accomodations they can to help you when you are travelling so I would talk to your provider as well. Tell them you will be travelling and that you need to get a portable concentrator for the trip. You should be able to use that if you need it.

Oh and if I didn't mention it already ... the importance of the POWER STRIP/CORD.

Hope you have a wonderful wonderful wonderful trip. Have fun and be safe travelling.

Hey Mel, I went on a cruise last year, I agree with pretty much everything Lindsey said.... Don't bring extra crap but make sure you have enough medications and stuff. I went on Royal Carribean cruise line and we had one of the biggger rooms and it was small..

The biggest rooms that they have are for handicapped ppl, the room is huge because they allow for a wheelchair.. I would call and try to get one of those rooms if you can... If not don't worry, but it is worth the idea of trying to get one.. They are double the size....

I brought my vest and nebs, which I did with the plugs next to my bed....I would sit out side on the deck off my room and do them, or do them while in bed.. I never used the bathroom outlets..

I blow dryed my hair at the little vanity desk in the room... I signed up for the drink plan for the cruise which was 50 for the whole week, My mom and I shared the cup mostly... It was so worth having... All the water I ever got was bottled..... They didn't have it as an option otherwise..

Everyone on our cruise HAD to sanitize their hands with the gel they provided before reboarding the ship and before going into any food area.. Literally they block you in and make you stand in line to get your hands clean..

If you need an O2 concentrator bring your own.. DO NOT DEPEND on the ship doctor or nurse for anything, they are compeletly useles, very expensive to visit, Most often the doctor is not american and does not have to answer to anyone for the care he or she gives..

I had the patch for the sea sickness but never used it... and I am prone to sea sick feelings....

Don't worry about snacks, everywhere you go they have so much food.. Tons and Tons and TOns..and it is all good, it is all wonderful....

Other things to consider bringing that are really expensive if you have to buy

antacid,
tums,
neosporin, bandaids.. Seriously expensive
hydrogenperoixde.. if Jazz gets water in her ear with all the swimming.. I was charged 22 dollars for use of a small bttle.

I can't think of anything else now.. But be prepard one of the big things they do on cruises is take your picture... They have usually two formal nights and then they take a million other ones in between, I ended up buying way to many and spent a fortune.....

I guess that is it....

Lots of good ideas, I like that power cord idea.. When we went (2 cruises) i used wrist bracelets for nausea, they seemed to work. I think there are several different methods for nausea, i would look into it, it is well worth it..
Usually in the evening at dinnertime that is when ppl get dressed up.. unless you decide not to eat in the dinning room..
Also, some ships have contests, and fun stuff to do. You may want to ask someone about what is planned so that you can be prepared.. One night was costume night, one family brought sheets w/ them and they were the sheet family, they had, bull sheet, sheet out of luck, scared sheet, little sheet, the list goes one.. you get the idea. We thought it was so cute we did it for halloween one year..
They also did a fifties dance thingy and some other fun stuff...
There is so much to do, i would say pick and choose what you want to do most and pace yourself, but most of all enjoy !!!
