cayston- batteries or power cord?

Hello..Just wondering..I know that in the instructions it says that the AC power supply is for backup incase batteries run out, but is it okay to use only the power supply and just forget the batteries, or are you really just suppose to use the batteries? Thanks..still getting used to this cayston thing, I just started it today.

also, how often are you supposed to start using a brand new altera nebulizer? i know with the regular nebs it's usually 6 months and you need to replace..thanks guys!

I always use the plug in cord. Battieries make it easier for travel but they go bad quick and you have to keep buying batteries.
I only use the batteries for traveling. But always bring spares.

I bought a set of Energizer rechargeable batteries, it was a 4 pack and I've been using those same batteries for several months now. Much more cost efficient than buying new batteries every two weeks! Also, every month you get your Cayston prescription filled, they will send you a new nebulizer. Personally I keep all of the "old" nebs and continue to use them because they function just fine, and it makes it easier to do 3 treatments a day with more nebs to use!

I use the power cord when ever possible. I did find that when batteries start to get low, it does not have as much power making the neb take longer.

I can't tolerate cayston, but when I first tried it, my resp. therapist told me to always use the power cord unless I was traveling or needed it to be portable. She told me this because batteries end up losing their life so quickly due to how much power the machines needs to use, it seems almost pointless to continuously use up batteries. The whole time I tried cayston I never used batteries and just used the AC power cord.
