1. I use a deep fryer on vacation to boil (Jeana - who has a pot and a range in a hotel room?!) my nebs <a href="%20http:/www.walmart.com/ip/Magic-Chef-12-Cup-Deep-Fryer/17655882" target="_blank">http://www.walmart.com/ip/Magic-Chef-12-Cup-Deep-Fryer/17655882</a> OR 2. I bring/purchase lots of rubbing alcohol to soak my nebs for 10 min after I wash them. I also then bring paper towels to let them dry on

I always bring my NUK with me, wherever I go. It actually fits well in a shoulder size carry on bag. Sorry, there's no magical advice I can give.
If I'm desperate, I also do the alcohol soak thing in small tupperwares, and bring plenty of ziplocs to help store stuff.

If you paste a link in the "quick reply" it will not parse the link. You have to hit the "reply" button to take you to the WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get editor) and then post the link, it should then parse after posting.

You're right. So in order to get this to work, you have to cross your fingers, do a rain dance, yump up and down, and ....

For those of you that use rubbing alcohol, do you then let the rubbing alcohol just dry on your nebs?
I always assumed the alcohol would need to be rinsed off (like those soaking solutions that supposedly sterilise home medical equipment but then the solution needs to be rinsed off with water) in which case you would need to rinse the alcohol off with sterile water so as not to recontaminate.

I have always used CONTROL cleaning solution while on vacation. I just soak nebs in a tupperware bowl. Easier than carting the NUK.
I am almost positive that you can't boil the Altera metal head. I always pack my baby bottle sterilizer. It is a pain in the butt, but I don't really know what else to do, other than buying a sterilizer when I get to my destination.
Edited to add: I just read this on Cayston's website:

Nope, alcohol evaporates just fine, especially the 90%. No rinsing needed.

<span><span>Absolutely - I just keep mine soaking in alcohol when not used, whether at home or on vacation. It keeps the small pores open

Geez, I just rinse mine out and let them dry on a clean washcloth. No wonder I'm sick.
