It has been suggested to my son that we start the evaluation for transplant. Does anyone have any experience with centers in Texas. Any information would be appreciated.

Baylor in Dallas is now doing more transplants with CF patients than in the past. UT Southwestern has a longer history with CF transplants. Children needing lung transplants are sent to Houston. Message me and I'll give you more information.

I was transplanted at UT Southwestern but followed my doctor to Baylor of Dallas. I guess that is why there are more CF patients being transplanted at Baylor than before.

Baylor has a CF/Transplant specialist, UT does transplants but doesn't have a CF specialist. Baylor should be your vest bet. And the same team of surgeons work at both FYI

The SRTR site has all the current statistics for centers doing lungs across the US. Here is the link to access the data:

It appears that Houston does a large volume of transplants so they might be worth looking into as well.
