CF and Asthma

With my doc they could tell I also had asthma b/c of how well I respond to the albuterol during PFTs. You knnow when you get the full test and they make you blow a few times, then give you albuterol to see if you can get higher? My hunch is that if your PFTs don't improve significantly 10 minutes after albuterol, then you might not have asthma or not as bad as others. For me, it helps a ton. I'm also effected by cold weather, perfumes, etc, which apparently points to asthma as well. I don't have allergies.

No allergies to speak of? Have you ever been skin tested? What about those asthmatics that you speak of?

Anecdotal evidence is fun, but worldwide research is even more fun.....

I worked with over 75 pulmonologists and allergists for 4 years and attended 2 international Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology conferences (funny how there's such a group if they weren't related....) College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. At those conferences I spoke to over 200 specialists from every continent in the world about this very topic.

So this group would beg to differ with <i> you </i>

Of course i've been skin tested. I've been skin tested countless times. I know they're related as i see an Asthma and Immunologist and have seen one my whole life.

If you read what i wrote, I said you shouldn't generalize 'almost all' asthmatics as having 'pretty severe alleriges'. Yes, some do. But not all.
