CF and Divorce

Unfortunately my husband and I are in the middle of the divorce. We haven't discussed custody issues, because I'm not sure how to share custody with all of Addie's equipment (g-tube, vest, nebs, meds, etc). How in the world do people pack up everything for just a day or two with the other parent?

Thanks so much in advance. Elise

How long have you had each of thelarge equipment? I'm sure you are entitled to a second neb machine, it may be possible to petition for a second feeding tube pump and maybe even another vest. It would be in Addie's best interest to have everything available at both places so that she can get her care consistently regardless of which parent she stays with.

I'm sorry your marriage is ending. I'm sure this is a difficult time. (((HUGS)))

im a single parent, and when my mom takes my daughter overnight (usually once a month) it is definatley a chore!! she does have an extra nebulizer, i always make sure she has enzymes at her house and syringes for meds thru the gtube on hand. but i do have to transport her vest and meds in cooler pack. i skip that night for tube feeding...i figure once a month isnt going to hurt her and it hasnt. but if it were more than one night then i would probably send the pump with extension tube and peptamin jr. (i have used a "command adhesive" hook on the wall to hand the bag from, just make sure it is the hook that holds up to 5lbs and comes off without damage)that helps so you dont have to take the pole around, then i just lay the pump on the edge of the bed. im sure you guys will eventually get in a routine and it will be second nature. until then....hang in there, sorry you are going thru this! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
