CF and Menopause!

I am a 37 yr old female with CF of which I have been having hot flashes during the day and night sweats well at night. Can this be a sign of me going through menopuase even thought I am still young enough not too? Has any other woman experienced this as well and if so was it menopuase? I have a CF appointment this Thursday and will ask the doc then but I was just wondering if anyone else was going through this. FYI...I am not taking any antibiotics or nothing else...except for my enzymes.

My understanding is that there is a "periomenapause" stage which is basically a pre menapause menapause. Its not as intense as actual menapause, but the symptoms can start anywhere from 30 & up. Of course everyone is different. When dealing with CF or any illness that requires lots of meds I would assume its difficult at times to tell the difference without specific testing. I get hot flashes & night sweats from many things: steroids, high sugars, heartburn, fevers, sex (not that I am complaining) & many other things of which I probably dont connect a lot together. I would definitely check with a GYN to make sure.

<P>Drugs and diabetes can cause that, but so can other hormonal issues. It may yet be hormonal, but not necessarily menopausal. I had terrible nightsweats in my late teens and when I was pregnant. Have it checked. If nothing is found right off, you can ask for a monitored cycle. This means that they draw blood periodically throughout your cycle to measure hormone levels. This tells them if you are stuck in a certain phase or if some hormone is not ebbing and flowing as it should. </P>
