Oh my goodness- I would have LOVED to have had one of these for all the years I had to carry around applesauce to give Emily her meds in... Even though she could swallow pills early she needed them in applesauce for years after that and it was often so messy (not to mention how much was often wasted.)

Liza- Just curious...is the creon different? We use Ultrase and we have always been told to use applesauce or peaches. They said only acidic foods, no bananas, milk, etc.

With one of the enzyme brand -- I think it's creon, there was the bonus of getting free nutritional beverages or vitamins. Different enzymes can work differently for people. Pancrease seems to work well for DS.

We were told no dairy with enzymes -- fruit was fine. DS hated applesauce, so we used bananas or pears. The CFF has some good info on enzymes, nutrition... Here's one link the birth to 1 year in terms of nutrition.

We also use the Creon in applesauce with Trevor, my 4 month old. He has been taking it sine he was about 6 weeks. Never really had a problem with it, just a problem with him using the spoon in general at first. But I have to say he has mastered the spoon now, he loves him some applesauce!
