Fred: Yeah, my whole family is from the flint area. About 10 years ago everybody started migrating from it to warmer weather. So.... I ended up being moved to Texas when I was 11. Lived there until I was 19 and now I'm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Emily, 11 1/2 inch Bass. It was announced at dinner and everything. I know a lot of people talked because at that point I was a 'little blonde haired blue eyed fairy that liked fishing' straaaaaaange. Plus I beat the boys. As for what years I went... oh dear, I'm pretty sure it was 95 and 96... but it was so long ago that I can't be 100% certain. Though I do know that at one point I ended up in the brochure for the camp twice in the same year (technically 3 times but they didn't recognize me in the third photo.. neither did I until we got it and I noticed the shirt I had on)

You guys may not have noticed, but I AM the Senior Camper, here! Maybe more like the "Senior Citizen Camper"! hehe. I was going to camp before most of you were born!
So, my thought was how i could get ALL, or even most of my (perhaps a little embarrasing) OLD photos that I do have of camp on the forum...I thought I'd just keep them contained in this spool, and add whatever the amount of memory is available to download, and change a few photos after a few days.
Some photos are group photos of past "Camp Onkoi", some are even group photos of me with my "patrol" (I think that was the term they used), some photos go as far back as 1974, though!!
Anyone else who has photos to share, this would probably be the best, since anyone who knows what we're talking about would enjoy the photos even more. Everyone agree?

fugikitten, Wow! Thanks so much, it makes me happy that you knew him too. He was super nice to me, he took me to a U of M football game with him and Rob after camp. They had student section tickets and told me, if anyone asks if I'm a student, to say my major is hyperactive nuclear something... I took it really seriously (I was pretty young). Also, in the bathroom of his apartment, he had those tabloids with pictures of bat-boy mutants!

Do you ever hear from Scott? He's probably 40 something years old now, I imagine. Maybe one day I'll get to tell him thanks, cause I really looked up to him. I'd love to hear any stories you have about him!

Oh yeah, Jim, I hated the food too... but I was always really picky. Glad it wasn't just me! I liked breakfast though, cause they had all that cereal! I remember spendng a lot of time downstairs, cause it was nice and cold down there. I miss Patty, she was always my running partner in the morning (so I didn't have to do physical therapy). I think I heard she's in Petosky too, or nearby. Do you remember someone named Peggy Crum at the MSU clinic? I thought she had the funniest name ever, unfortunately that's all I remember! She was probably really tired of me calling her "crum bum".

Emily, I didn't understood why the bonfire was so sad either, until just now really. I figured they just didn't want to leave camp... but I get it now. I haven't really had any CF friends, so I haven't really thought about those things. But, I found a journal of a guy named Jessie (he was one of the Spoonmen!) and he had a list of friends that passed. I knew some of those people from camp, and it finally got to me. I'm really glad to see Jessie seems to be doing well though.

Fred, I think that's the same "Bruce". I remember the glasses! I remember the beaver call now! Thanks so much for posting that I don't remember Bill Peek, but I remember Patty telling me about her husband a little. I don't remember anyone named Lu, but I don't remember anything about the rifle range except thinkng "Wow, I hope my mom doesn't find out about this!" I have some vague memories about archery too, but it could've been from another summer camp... did they have archery?

I have his email if you want it. I knew Peggy, I use to go to the MSU clinic. I saw Scott not to long ago actually for Jim Meyer's birth day party. So every one knows he was the grim reaper at the carnival custum thingy. I rember the flutter circle, that was weird. I dont think He's 40 yet but rounding on it. I know he's younger than my mom.
<begin quote>Originally posted by: anonymous

I go to the Toledo Clinic, at the Childern's medical center. I hated Dr. Honiky, my mom did too. I miss Kathy King though. Do you ever go to the Chalfonte house? Jimeyer has this house in elk rapids that he invited kids and adults too. If you wanted I could give him your name and what not and he would invite you I'm sure. Also for thoose of you who know him, I own "Embers of the Fire" It's about camp, he's in it and he has hair. I went the last 2 years it was actual camp and not the retreat, I just wasn't interested in the retreat. From what Maggie told me I wouldn't have liked it very much. Btw my name is Rose so you know.
<begin quote>Originally posted by: lynchmobshredder

Jim has tried to get me to come to that chalfonte house for years! i never end up going though....how has he been anyway? tell him Jim said hi!

Yeah Dr. Honicky was a very hard man to deal with but hell he saved my life. But when it came time to move to an adult care center i was MORE than ready to fly the coop! Katy King was awesome i really liked her alot and miss her too.
