Our PCP is only seen for earaches, vaccinations, etc. non- cf related things mostly. We have BCBS HMO Blue and we got 100 refferals to our cf clinic!! So i don't have to worry about the PCP referral til next year!! Lord... i hope we are not at the cf clinic 100 times this year!! I recently took Brinly to PCP for sinus infection(no cough at that point) and she ended up having an ear ache and is on Amoxil. But everytime i go to PCP and Brinly is on something i ALWAYS run it by the cf clinic. They always want to know and i feel good using both doctors experience. We have lots of Fires here in N. Texas and my PCP told me to up her treatments and keep her indoors on windy days-not the cf clinic!! And our PCP did recidency at children's hospital and saw alot of cfers. So i think it is good to have an experienced PCP. But definently do not let them run the show or even think the can!!! I am taking her next week to cf clinic b/c of the cough not going away. Tis the season!!
