CF Clinic improvments

First of all, the clinic here in Denver got an endocrinologist not too long ago, which is really good for CFRD patients, among other things. The endocrinologist really knows her stuff when it comes to kidneys and livers and pancreases.

Also, yesterday I had an appointment and they've moved all the patient records to the computer system. That means no more waiting for the doctor or RN to fumble around for patient history or test results in a huge 20-inch file folder. They just type into the comupter and it's all there. I think it's really going to improve the level of care a lot.

Is your clinic doing stuff like this, too?

*all smiles* I love our clinic too!

Dr. Janssen rocks (she's the endo that the girls above mentioned)! Although I am not too happy she wants me to change my diet (no more HFCS) but I know it is for the best. It is awesome that she is thinking about our future health. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Every time I see her I learn soooo much! I try to write it all down (and post it on my S&S blog to share with those who aren't so fortunate) but no way I can remember every bit of info. She is so smart! She and Nurse Sara fought tooth and nail with my insurance to get me coverage of an insulin pump and continuous monitor. I just found out yesterday that we were successful! We had been fighting since December. My pump is in the mail! (there is some financial discrepancy about my monitor though)

Our entire clinic in Denver really go far above and beyond to help us out.

I have been in clinic quit a bit recently. A couple of times ago Sara put all my info in to the computer, but Dr. Nick still was lugging around my old 3-ring binder (overflowing, lol).
I guess it may take some time to get everything converted. I have always thought it was so cool that they could bring up your x-rays right on the computer screen in the exam room.
