I am possibly moving to Auburn, AL for a job but before making a decision I want to make sure that we can get quality care for my 7 month old daughter with CF. I see that there is a pediatric CF clinics in Birmingham and two in Atlanta which are all about the same distance from Auburn. Does anyone have any experience with any of these clinics that could help me determine the best one for my daughter? Also, do you know if any of the clinics offer outreach clinics in the Auburn area? Thank you for your help!

We live in Tuscaloosa Al. and my son attended Childrens in Birmingham as a child. He is now an adult and goes to UAB. We were always happy with Childrens but he hasnt been there in 6 years. I dont know anything about the ones in Georgia or what is available in Auburn-it is a fairly small town. Good luck with your decision.

We live in Birmingham, Al and go to Childrens here in Birmingham. Shelby has received excellent care. I can't say enough good things about Dr Hoover and the team at our clinic. PM me if there is anything you would like to know.

Hi, I live in Auburn and although Children's used to have an outreach clinic in Montgomery...they don't anymore. We just drive to Children's in Birmingham and have been happy with them. I love my son's doctor...he is wonderful! My son was diagnosed at 4 so we have been making the drive for 6 years and it is not too bad. PM me is you want some more info.

We are from Northeast Alabama and travel to Birmingham for Clinic and hospital stays. Dr. Hoover is #1! Ask for him! All of the pulmonary team is! Our daughter was diagnosed at 4 months old and has seen them from day one! She was very sick and her left lung was filled with excess mucous. She was diagnosed with failure to thrive. Granted we did have to stay 3 months the first visit, but the treated us like family! She is about to turn 5 and they have turned her around completely! I am so proud to call Children's "Our Hospital"! I know people that travel out of state to see the doctors!! Children's is an amazing place and have seen us through everything and have explained every move in detail with out us even having to ask. Dr. Hoover is an amazingly smart man. I guarantee you will be impressed by his knowledge, kindness and how much he really cares (and the entire pulmonary team)!

Thank you all for your help! I have heard great things about the Birmingham CF clinic and think that is the way to go. I really appreciate your help with this, it really helps to have personal referrals when it comes to such an important decision.

I just want to add that I have been at Emory (Egleston) with Dr. Caplin for 14 years and he has been wonderful. However, I don't know how much longer he will be in practice and I can't say that I would recommend any other pediatric doctor in Atlanta, so it sounds like Birmingham is probably your best option! If you do want any more info on Atlanta, I have had experience with the doctors at both centers and can hopefully answer any questions if you send a message. Good luck!
