We love our compressor. it isn't cheap and it isn't pretty, but its build to last!! We have the Invacare Mobilaire. Several people have discussed it, so maybe do a thread search. Its a 50psi compressor and you can change the psi's just like in the hospital. We've had it for 3 years and it still works terrific!!!

I have had a good many nebulizer machines over the yrs.. I have had great success from the Pulmo-Aide ®Compressor/Nebulizer

The Pulmo-Aide is a work horse, I have 2 of them, one in office and one in living room. Very easy to change filter. My insurance co. will replace every 5 yrs. they pay 80%. I spend 4-6 hr. a day doing neb. RX.
As far as manual hand held chest percussors, I have several inflateable O2 mask which make great chest percussors. If you know anyone in respiratory therapy, they will prob. give you a couple. If you have ins. you might want to look at a vest system. Stay well hydrated, this helps get the junk out!! Good luck!!!!

And scanboyd, my husband doesn't have insurance. He lives in Canada and most things are paid for but when it comes to things that aren't from the hospital, you have to buy it yourself. I know insurance is hard to come by with having CF but that is definitely something that would help especially when we look into purchasing the vest because I know my husband is interested in that. I had similar issues with Pari compressors, I went through two in a few years b/c they just kept getting slower and louder despite changing filters. I recalled having nebs for many years that lasted much longer. I did a lot of research and settled on the Devilbiss Pulmo-Aide as well. I had it over 15 years ago, not sure why I switched. It's not as small and portable as the Pari's but it's quieter and durable. I use the portable Pari one when I'm traveling.
