CF Fundraiser Yesterday

A couple of ladies and I from the area participated in a community rummage sale yesterday. Had over 6 tables full of stuff -- baby clothes, housewares, adult clothing. We made over $1200 in 7 hours. Still took home a lot of stuff and some off to the thrift store, but thought it wasn't too shabby.

Some of the stuff we thought wouldn't sell very well (adult clothes and old kids sandals) did and stuff we thought would did like a bunch of DS fleecy Carters baby outfits, didn't. Heck, 1-2 for a nice outfit was too much for some people. We had a basket of onsies -- 10 for $1 and one lady complained it was too much. Hello?

Was something different. Got rid of a bunch of junk sitting around and I still have things I found afterwards that I can save for next fall or year when they have the sale again.

Wow! I am encouraged by your success! I will be having a HUGE (4 GARAGES full) rummage this summer as a CF fundraiser. I am collecting donations from anyone who wants to get rid of stuff and it is quickly piling up. Can't wait to get it out of my basement! I am hoping to make around $2,000, but we'll see.

.10 for a onesie was too much? Are you kidding me? Where does she shop..DumpstersRus? LOL

Congratulations on your fundraiser. I'm glad it went well.

Wow, sounds great! That was an amazing take for one day and what a great way to help spread awareness as well!! (And I am with you, the things people complained about sounds crazy to me!! I expect to pay a couple dollars for nice kid outfits at yard sales, esp. the good brands like that- and back in the days of baby stuff would have snatched up onesies for that price! (You could NEVER have enough of those things!)

I am bringing a HUGE load of stuff to a yard sale at a friends' house next month; it's the weekend of our local Great Strides walk. Donating my take to the CFF (whether or not her or my other friend does really doesn't matter a bit!) is a great idea and one that hadn't even occurred to me. Thanks for the idea here! I had been trying to figure out a way to do a little something more during a time I really can't afford to do much (so many of us understand just how tight things have become, you know?)
