CF Pain

Hi all.

I've just read on a website that some people who suffer from CF have some difficulty sleeping due to pain.
I know that some CFers suffer from joint pain but have never really understood why.

Other than this type of pain, what other situations can induce pain in CFers (other than when we're sick and it hurts a bit when breathing - back/chest)? On this note, why does it hurt when we breathe sometimes?

Your answers will be much appreciated but i prefer white lies than hard truths so please don't be too negative. He he he.

Many thanks,

Vera

As a child I had no pain. However, in the past few years, I have pain (almost like pressure) on my left side at times if I sleep on it too much. My left lung has more damage from CF than my right. So i work to sleep on my right side so I can use that lung more while I sleep. Other pain is during an exacerbation while doing manual CPT.

there are 23 replies to this question under the "adults with cf" forum on this website it is titled "chronic pain??" I believe you would find much of what you are asking for if you just clicked on that thread. Why do you want white lies?? CF pain is very real and can be disabling.

Thank you for your answers.

melx - Each person deals with CF the way they find to be better for them. I feel that i know what i need to know to deal with and handle my condition and do not wish to know about a bunch of things i don't have yet so that i don't think and worry about them (unnecessarily at this stage). Please respect that. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
