Apparently they have created some pigs with CF.

At first I rolled my eyes....

Then I realized that my enzymes come from pigs. Hmm...perhaps pigs can not only give us bacon and the enzymes to process the delicious bacon, but it can also give us our long awaited CURE!

Anyone else sense the skepticism? These scientists should ALLLLLLL be looking at stem cell research. Am I the only one who clearly sees this as our saviour?

Amen!

Well i guess i will put in my 2 cents worth since you asked.........lol
Personally i dont think there will ever be a "cure". We are stuck with the genes we have and unless we can go back and exchange these faulty genes for normal ones(which is impossible) we can not be "cured". BUT what i do think will be found is a way to get the genes to function more normally via, medication.... Like insulin to a diabetic. As long as we stay on the medicine regimine there would be no more progression of the symptoms of the disease. Stem cell research could provide us with that very necessary route to what we need.

all i can think about is that pigs have 30 minute orgasms............i wonder if they can enable CFers to follow suit on this!!! Now that's what i'd call a real break-through
