CF + Pill = safe?

Just fyi, do not rely on the pull out method to avoid pregnancy. Its not safe, if you're that concerned with getting pregnant.
<br />The only time the effectiveness of the pill is an issue is if she's on certain antibiotics, like others said. Not all antibiotics affect the pill, but some do and she'll have to ask the doc to find out if one she's taking for her cf will be an issue for you guys. During the time she takes the antibiotic, plus a cycle after you'll have to use condoms to safely avoid pregnancy.

ok, what if we bought the "day after" pill JUST IN CASE to make sure</end quote></div>
Just to be sure-are you the one with Cf, or her?

Thats not a form of birth control, thats for emergencies. There is no reason that the pill shouldn't work to prevent pregnancy if its being used correctly. As long as she's taking it, and as long as her obgyn tells her whether or not her antibiotics are interfering with it, then you guys shouldn't have a problem.

And your part is using condoms for a very brief time if that is necessary. Its better than running for the morning after pill every time you guys are worried.

Well, after 10 years experience with being on birth control, off birth control, avoiding pregnancy, wanting to get pregnant...The best thing is to talk to an obgyn about birth control, period. Other docs have given me conflicting info about how safe BC is-and then I've gotten 2nd and 3rd opinions from obgyns, learning that I had fine protection from my BC, despite me being on antibiotics from time to time.
Again, this is up to her but, speaking from experience, I go to the specific doctor for each specific field. And obgyn is not a cf docs field.

Don't assume that because your girlfriend has cf it is nearly impossible to get pregnant without help!!! There is no proof of that! Like you'll see on this forum some become pregnant with ease.

If you guys really dont want to get pregnant talk to an ob-gyn to get confirmation that her pill is good for her. Or use condoms as a back-up...what every guy wants to hear <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Ditto all of the above...but a cavalier attitude toward the morning after pill concerns me - you should be using a condom as well. Don't take any chances. Period.

we were told my daughter(CF) could not get pregnant but as I have heard of many people being told that and then they got a surprise, she decided to go on the pill. Her cycle was never really regular. Apparently at some point her pill failed however she never really looked pregnant. Then one day we were teasing her she had a little belly we thought originally she was starting to get a blockage. kiddingly her sister suggested she take a pregancy test she did and when she had her sonigram she was already close to 6 mos The technician was surprised they got a full view of baby in sonnigram and she told my duaghter he is already practicing breathing. She said she felt little like bubbles in her tummy but thought was gas. I would suggest she speak with her gyn. A few mos after my daughter had her son she did get her tubes tied.
