CF Telethon

I wanted to let everyone up here know that a local Eastern North Carolina news station (WCTI TV 12) had their 28th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Telethon tonight. It usually runs for twelve hours (noon to midnight). I went up there for a interview and to sing. But the biggest news is that they raised $384,308 for CF Research!! Breaking their highest record amount! Which is great since they only reach a small local area. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Danyell,

Where was the telethon at in NC??? I'm in Durham and didn't know about the telethon. I went to ECU in Greenville. Anyway, that's an awesome amount. Maybe next year I can participate somehow?

That's cool. It is so nice here, but VERY hot & humid. Be careful for the riptides...they have been really bad this year. Hope you have a blast!

The telethon was held in New Bern, NC on WCTI TV 12 (website is www.thenewsleader.com). I dont believe the station can reach Durham or parts of the Outer Banks. As I said, its amazing how much money was was raised since it does reach out that far. They usually hold the Telethon on the 2nd Saturday in August. I live in Bear Grass (30-45 minutes from Greenville) which is 1 hr and a half from New Bern. I will try to remember to post information about when the telethon will be next year. I know of u have B. Cep you are not allow to attend. Other than that you can go but they usually plan the CFers where there will only be one in the building at the time. So there is no chance of cross infections. So if you have CF you have to be scheduled, you cant just show up.

My daughter goes to UNC. She was diagnosed at Duke but we had a bad experience there so we switched to UNC and have been happy so far.
