CF vest - where did you buy yours?

Hello all!

I am from Canada so the Vests aren't funded by the government for us. I went to a non profit organization who are giving me money to buy a vest from the US. I want to buy one from The Vest company. Is this a legit company? Where does everyone get their vests from?

I did a lot of research before finally picking electromed. They make the smart vest. There are 3 or 4 main companies in the US. essentially it is all the same technology, with each one having a different set of bells and whistles. We ended up choosing electromed because they only make vests and it is single hose system. Also our RT recommended them because they are very easy to deal with. We had a good experience with them.

The Vest- made by HillRom is absolutely reputable. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> They have fantastic customer service and we've been very pleased with Emily's the last two years.

The InCourage system by Respiritech is the other one to look into, in addition to the SmartVest. I would call all three and see which one will offer you the best pricing, etc and see which features sound most appealing to you. You'll be able to get lifetime warranty on the compressor and replacement hoses and vests as needed if you got a HillRom Vest and assume the same with the others as well.

Katelyn: Like you we are from Canada and in the same boat of working towards funding for a couple of airway clearance devices through local service organizations. My grandsons are twins and have CF. We are presently working with a representative from the Respirtech company who produces the In Courage system and they have been extremley helpful in providing costing numbers and answering related questions we have regarding their products. We chose the Respirtech system through recommendations from other users and from the CF clinic that the boys are receiving care from. We have for several months also been using the actual "Vest" system manufactured by Hill Rom..which is on loan to us through a CF related foundation, and which has been a good working system although we have not used others to compare it with. I hope this info. helps you and I wish you the best in acquiring a system that is right for you.

We are from Canada and my husband wants the vest but we were disheartened to find out how much they are and wouldn't be funded.

I ordered my vest from Smart Vest. I originally had one a few years ago from Hill Rom but I didn't like using it so I gave it to someone on this site. (Hence the reason why I couldn't go through Hill Rom again lol). If you want their phone number you can PM me and I'll give it to you
