The way I can gain weight with exercising is eating a lot of pasta (carbs like LightNlife said) and home made burritos. Something about burritos put the weight on and then when I walk/jog with ankle weights - the combination builds muscle mass.

I remember the bodybuilder on this site. I haven't seen him post in a while though. Hopefully you can find one of his posts and PM him. Obviously he has a lot of info to share on the topic.

I did 3 meals a day. Breakfast was usually a English muffin and homefries, lunch some kind of meat (usually chicken) and pasta, dinner was a chicken salad or steak on the grill. I then did 2-3 protein shakes, and not that crap from GNC, talk to a trainer to get a good shake. I mixed in fresh strawberries with my shakes, or sometimes peanut butter. I lifted in the gym with a trainer for an hour, 3 days a week. I put on about 10 lbs of muscle in a relatively short period of time.

I wasn't too worried about how much calories I got per day, my general rule was if I was hungry I ate.

Right now I an in the Crossfit program at a local gym. I like it better than just lifting. It's a more well rounded workout, but it's also a very rigorous workout. Unless you're doing really well with PFT's and stuff I would think about something a little less demanding.

I find without weightgainer shakes I just can't eat that much solid food. I need the shakes because I can down them fast and it's calories.

Lol burritos. I think if I hate too many I'd be on the toilet for weeks. But yeah I've been trying ankle weights for a couple weeks, we'll see how it goes.

I'm not really interested in crossfit program right now, lifting weights is enough for me. I'm trying to gain weight. Once I gain some weight I'll start looking into a more rigorous program. I think working out/exercising immensely helps with PFT's and stuff so I see no reason to do something less "demanding," unless I am physically unable.

I've been pretty active my whole life... hockey, skiing, baseball, biking, etc, so lifting weights isn't a burden on me.

Quick note on the burritos. The trick is not to use refried beans. Use a can of black beans instead, they're much healthier and they don't cause the classic bean symptoms.

Good luck with your weight gain.
