CFF and fundraising

This is kind of a wierd question, but I know alot of people on this site do great strides and other fundraising for CFF so I thought I would ask here.

This year was the first year we were involved with Great Strides my daughter was diagnosed with CF 10 months ago. Our team did well we raised $10,000. We then worked with our local CFF office and did a dinner dance and raised another $40,000. The contact person at the CFF office was a little challanging to work with, but because we so believe in the cause just sort of rolled with the punches so to speak. Anyway, today out of the blue she called me while I was on my way to work and told me she has set up a conference call between the two of us and the executive director of the local CFF chapter because of changes in the way that CFF is raising money. She would not tell me anything else, just that I need to make myself available in the middle of my work day to do this. I feel a little like a naughty kid getting sent to the principal's office without knowing what I did.

I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything about this "policy" change or if maybe it was just something from our local office?

I have no idea what this is about, but my curiousity is highly piqued!! Please come back and tell us what the conversation is about!!

Congratulations on raising $50,000 -- that's impressive!! They should be bowing at your feet for your contribution. These contributions are what make the CFF work.

I don't have a clue either. I recently got an email from our new contact person, who wants to meet with us to brain storm on fundraisers for our area -- we're the local walk leaders) because our previous rep was a little flakey and has since taken a job elsewhere.

Very interesting. I can only think that maybe they want you to be involved differently, maybe chair great strides or put a new spin on the dinner/dance? It seems like the CFF has been trying to streamline things over the past couple of years but each chapter and areas within each chapter do different things so not everything can be streamlined. Is there another person at your chapter office you could work with? If there is a personality conflict I would definately talk to the director about it (unless the director is the person you are talking about!)

Let us know how the call goes!

BTW-Nice job on the fundraising, that is AWESOME!
