CFRD question

Does anyone experience tingling toes or feet? I have had CFRD for about 5 years and ALWAYS had a super low A1C. My last one was 6.1.
Still, I have tingling in my toes and heels.
Anyone ever get this feeling?

I would have that checked out!! I have CFRD and I have tingling in my toes. My endo doctor checks my feet each visit. My feet tingle and go numb but we found out it was NOT due to the diabetes..... mine was due to a pinched nerves in my hip.

Do you have any wounds on your feet?? Watch that too!!

I'm in the process of having this problem evaluated right now. My feet and hands have been tingling for 2-3 weeks. I mentioned it to my ID doctor since I was on IV Fortaz at the time and thought it was from the meds. He thinks it is unlikely from that medication, especially since it didn't end up going away when the meds finished.

He ran all kinds of blood work, including A1c. It was 6.0, which I guess is very slightly elevated. I don't have CFRD (at least haven't been diagnosed with it to this point). Some other labs were slightly off as well, and a nuclear antibodies test was positive for an antibody that typically indicates an autoimmune disease called MCTD. I don't know anything about that kind of thing so am not sure if that actually means it's likely I have the condition or not. I meet with the doctor on 12/1 to go over the lab results and for further evaluation.

This last week my hands and fingers began hurting as well as tingling. I've been wondering if my tingling and slightly elevated labs could possibly indicate CFRD, but it doesn't seem like my A1c is high enough for such a problem. I'll be interested to hear what your doctor thinks.
