Interestingly enough, I saw a study on tv about diabetes and blood sugar levels, where they were checking to see if diabetics benefitted from keeping their blood sugar levels lower, like a non-diabetic's would be, or at the ranges that are used now. They stopped the study because the death rate among the the people in the lower blood sugar levels were dying at a higher rate than the ones who had them at the regular advised levels, and they needed to find out why. If I can find the study, I'll put it up.
I also tend to err on the higher side (try to keep it under 170, but am still working on getting these insulin levels straightened out. When I had gestational diabetes, as long as it was under 170, my doctor was happy.
