I don't think that it is always directly related. I have always been pancreatic insufficient but I did not have problems with my blood sugars until after the transplant and the only reason that I have the problems is because of the meds that I am on.

I guess what I am trying to say is that not everyone who is pancreatic insufficient is going to have CFRD.

Thanks everyone. I guess it can go either way - it seem like even those of us who are PS can still have issues with our pancreas (eg pancreatitis), so both PS and PI CFers could develope CFRD.

Hi...

My daughter had CFRD after her second tx and the thing that REALLY finally helped her was Carb Counting. It was tough at first but pretty soon she had it down to a science before too long.

I'm PS (as i assume you are) and i get pancreatitis pretty much every month. i also go in and out of the range for CFRD. currently, my body has 'glucose intolerance'. i haven't met anyone yet who is PS with CFRD, but im sure that somewhere there's someone who is <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
