Change in diapers..and smell.

We have been offering our son Whole milk, instead of formula off and on for the past week. I have noticed he is having more "poopy" diapers, than his normal 1-2 a day. They also smell badly, sort of like before we uped his enzymes the last time. He is also teething big time! All of these reasons could be a reason for his new poopy smell, and added diaper changes. Just wondering if any of you Moms/Dads have any thoughts....Could it be just the milk change or does it sound like an Enzyme issue.

Thanks,

Mommy to Johnny 1 Years old this upcoming Sunday...We have came a long way in a year<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

P.S. I just called the CF Clinic....waiting on a call back...

We had the opposite affect with whole milk = constipation. 'Course that first year I never WAS able to figure out what normal poop looked like. I seem to recall the fat content of whole milk (4%?) was less than formula and I was worried he wasn't going to get enough nutrients when I switched him from formula.

Teething always seemed to do a number on DS as well...

DS always seems to have a specific smell to his poops. I would say that if it smells like before when you upped enzymes, I'd definitely talk to the doc about it. Of course they're probably going to want to know if it's greasy, which I'm not sure that you commented about?

DSs seems to be bright orange with a lot of grease and a very specific smell when he needs his enzymes upped.

The other thing that I think of is that the formula, more than likely, has more fat than the milk does in it. . . so it may just be a growth thing, and not the milk?

our nutritionist says that milk can do that to poop so she says not to give too much milk. also so that she will eat other things. we had the same issue.we also get terrible poop with teething. sometimes it's good to monitor it a little before jumping to conclusions.
