My husband has severe, chronic localized chest wall pain. He gets nerve block shots every so often and is on pain meds for it. No one, not cf specialists, not pain doctors, not his family doctor, knew what it was, what caused it, how to help him. It was first diagnosed as chostocondritis, but now they have settled on nerve pain. They surmise that his coughing has caused damaged. (He has cracked ribs several times). We felt pretty isolated, until a few years ago (I'm not sure if it was this message board or another cf chat board) when I posted asking if anyone had this sort of pain -- and a lot of do, and some also had trouble with dr.s understanding exactly the severity of the pain. Please get a good diagnosis - whether it's this type of pain or something else. No reason for you to have to deal with such pain - you guys have enought to deal with! I hope your dr. listens to you and I hope you feel better soon.
