Can you believe that after already having chicken pox at the age of 5, I got it again!?? It's driving me insane! I went to the ER tonight after finding a few bumps on my arm and belly etc...and the doc told me...I have a regualr check up tomorrow at the CF clinic but, I couldnt wait that long! Not only that but, the ER doc told me that chicken pox can develope pneumonia (which I get around every 3-5 months) so, now, I get to look foward to that!!! YAY!!

Uhh, you're not supposed to be able to get chicken pox twice. Did they do any kind of test to come up with that? If not it could be measles, or shingles. Either way you should stay away for the hospital unless you get real sick because its so contagious.

I had chicken pox at age 3 and then my cousin got it when he was 7, so thinking I was OK my parents let me play with him.(no others could) Well I ended up getting it again. So yeah it happens.

I had the chicken pox twice (around 4 or 5) and to this day my older brother never had it...which is so not fair. It happened within a few months of each other, from what I can remember.

It's possible to get the chicken pox twice. There is a certain minimum number of pox you need to get to be considered immune to the virus (I think its 20). If your first time around you didn't get that many pox, you are still susceptible to get them again

Hi,

It's Coll's mom. The brother of a friend mine had the chicken pox 3 or 4 times - due to the reason Coll gave.
Good luck in your recovery

Chicken pox are horrible, no doubt about it! I had them once as a kid, so the horrific memories have worn off as I cannot recall the misery that I had to live thru. Now I just have a few adorable scars that I love to show!
