In my consent order of protection my husband is ordered to pay the rent of 650 a month and 200 dollars for our cf childs pediasure or what ever meds hes needing to be paid for by him directly after 24 hrs of notification.

Due to isaiahs health i can not work and he gets ssi of 637 a month and medicaid, i was wondering do you have medicaid and try to get your child a ssi check.I got it based on the fact that in their brochure it states if your going to die from the disease your eligible for ssi and i cut that out of the pamphet and taped it to the application and i got the check for isaiah that way...

I am the Nana of Grayson and I can tell you that all of this is hard on everyone. Especially the children. Everyone does get along well for the kids sake, however, the economy is so bad right now it is affecting everyone. I totally agree that parents need to support their children but just as Avery and Lainey, Grayson's sisters, my daughters twins are affected by this so is Ryelle, my daughters stepdaughter and grafted in granddaughter to me. I don't think there should be a hardship for either family. Ryelles mother and husband both have jobs right now and taking that much money from my daughters family especially since Avery and Lainey's father loss his job and won't be paying child support will create a great hardship for all of them. I say pay the support but make it fair. Grayson shouldn't have to suffer and neither should any of the kids. I don't know what the answer is. Grayson is getting SSI, not much due to they make to much. So they are the working poor. Making to much money for help but not enough to live on. I just don't understand the government here. I think it needs to change to help those of us who are trying to help themselves and for the people who are in situations beyond their control. No givin out to mothers popping out 8 babies while drawing disabilty. God help the children. Love you Tiffany, this all will work out.

My husband and I have an 8 month old together no cf and he has a 4 year old w/ cf and a 5 year old no cf from a previous marriage. We have had the kids in our custody since May 30, 2008. He is still paying her $600 dollars a month, because she still has physical custody of them. We have tried pushing the issue with FOC but they told us we would have to wait for a review of their case which comes up next month. A question I have is on the ssi we applied for it and they told us that she was not eligible for it, but then I was reading on the Social Security website that if you have a terminal illness that you are automatically eligible. Does anyone know about this? I mean its not that we are really bad off and need it but it would be nice to be able to set the extra aside for her that way if and when she needs something the money is there and we don't have to worry about it.

Spontz:

If you have questions on SSDI, you can get with Julie (that is her username here) and she has a foundation specifically for helping families with SSDI applications.

You can also find her information on the homepage and I believe posted at the top of the Adult forum.
