Was it done at an accredited lab? If you don't know, check here: http://www.cff.org/aboutCFFoundation/Locations/FindACareCenter/

IMHO, if the sweat testing was conducted at an accredited hospital, I'd assume she probably has CF and ask for a referral to a CF center. They will confirm (or not) the diagnosis.

OTOH, if the test was not done at an accredited lab, I'd have the sweat test repeated at an accredited hospital. False positives at non-accredited hospitals are not unheard of. JMHO.

Ditto as to what everyone else is saying. Hopefully you'll get some answers on Friday, but I would go in prepared to push for genetic testing. I know in our area they now do newborn screening, but for YEARS they only did sweat testing. In fact DH's cousin said that her daughter with asthma was worried that maybe she had CF and she told her, she couldn't because she passed the sweat test. I pointed out that so did DS with a normal 32.

We are calling our Dr. tomorrow to have genetic testing done as well. I don't want to screw around and I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long does it take to get the genetic testing results back (generally)? of the "big one" of 1500?
