That's nice. And if you want to share it, by all means do... but what the hell did it have to do with this thread??? I think it'd be more appropriately placed in a thread of its own, perhaps in the religion section.

Luke.... I agree with you also. No one should be able to tell me that i can't say Merry Christmas!!!! I also wonder why the people that do not believe still celebrate.... If i do not believe in something than i do not celebrate or even acknowledge it... Everything that our country was founded on has changed...it will not be long before the Lord comes back to take his church.

Those of us who don't believe and still celebrate aren't celebrating the original idea of what Christmas was (I am really speaking for myself, mind you). I don't celebrate the holiday as anything religious, or anything related to Christ. I celebrate the secular (yay for learning new words, Allie!) part of it. The good food, the gift giving, the time with friends, family, and loved ones. Basically the "good will" type stuff. So it's not the same Christmas to me as it is to you, but it still means a lot to me and I love the holiday.

True short story? You lost me at the second sentence, double spaced. I don't think it particularly belongs in this discussion though.

Ah! America!! True blend of all races, religions, creeds and beliefs (or non beliefs)!

At least you guys GET holiday greetings of some sort every year!! We only get two greetings here, "Have a "Happy New Year" ( future tense) , and "Happy New Year" (present tense) that only happens when you greet the person once at the beginning and the end of the year!! I never once had a "Merry Christmas" when I had to work on Christmas day!! (though i'm gonna wish that to Yuka!!)
Kinda changes the atmosphere a little, when you hear some sort of wishful kindness!! And no one has what religion written on their forehead, so why are so many athiests so touchy these days?!

Boy, have I been a way from the States a long time!!

And, yes, the anonymous post regarding the Rev. Powel, looks like it's in the wrong place! (must've lost it's way)

I probably should post this personal opinion in the religious sect., but frankly, I'm not quite considering myself as a "Roman Catholic" at this time, nor Jewish, or Buddhist, however, there are a lot of parts regarding Judiasm, and Buddhismthat i do agree with, so I'm not an athiest, either. (I know, probably odd, too!)

I think it's terrible that you can't wish someone a Merry Christmas without offending them... now days Christmas has been so exploited for presents anyways... who says it always has to do with Jesus' birthday to everyone. I'm sure many people have completely lost the whole meaning to Christmas anyways... and this is America Damn it! For the most part there are more Christians regardless of what branch they worship... Christmas is a Christian holiday... I have the right to say Merry Christmas to anyone I want. I don't care if I offend them. I think people need to lighten up a little, and pull that stick out of their A-hole!!!

Oopsy... sorry to go on a tangent!
