Cipro Side Affects

This past week Trent got pretty sick and called down to his doctor to see if it was time to check in for a "tune up". The PA forgot that he had called and after Trent calling 2 more times she called back to say that she would call in a script for Cipro and if he didn't feel better in a few days to call back and they would have him come down to check in. UGH!!
He's been taking the meds for 24 hours now and he has a big cold sore forming on his lip. This happens when he takes this particular med. He says it is the medicine pushing the bad stuff out. Has anyone else experienced this or know of someone who has?

I have never had a cold sore from a med. but i do notice when i get sick, i get one regardless of what i am on . Since i am on antibiotics all the time for prophilactic reasons, i know it isnt the antibiotic that causes the cold sore( for me), but like i said when i come down with something, whether it be a cold or when i am downright sick, sure enough i get a cold sore. L-Lysine 1000mg. 3 x prer day helps to get rid of that problem( cold sore) pronto.

Same as Diane...I get them when I am sick. And I am always on abx too so I know it is not them. I use Abreva when I get cold sores and it takes it away within a few days. I put it on there all the time and kill that sucker!!!!

Also I have been on Cipro for the past 3 months and I take it when I am coming down with something to to prevent infections in really bad winters (such as this one).
