Cleaning Nebs and Spacers in Dishwasher...

I have recently purchased a countertop dishwasher that has an Intensive wash cycle that heats up to 158 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

I haven't gotten it yet, but I can't wait! It will be so convenient for us to just put them in there and push a button to have the clean and sterile.

So my question is, for those of you that do wash your nebs and spacers in the dishwasher, do you use detergent?

It seems like you could, but I am not for sure. Thanks!!

We wash are DD nebs in the dishwasher and use detergent for them. But we also do the boil thing after for ten minutes. I am glad you brought this up! because when we bought are dishwasher the sales men told us ( and you know they don't lie) that the dishwasher we were buying would sterilize anything.I just don't trust it, don't know if I'm being over cautious about it.
Our dishwasher gets to 170 deg. according to the manufacturer.

Even if you boil on the stove (gold standard for sterilizing) it's recommended to wash nebs first in soapy water to remove residue left behind from the meds. So I'd imagine using the soap would be recommended.

We boil wash and then boil nebs. Our dishwasher does have a sanitize feature, but I don't run it every day, plus I'd worry about food particles. I did use it for bottle parts and bottles a zillion years ago.

Was this a typo or do you really boil both before and after washing?
