Clinic Call-backs

I personally never experienced that with a CF clinic,. both my nurses first in NJ and now in SC get back to me right away... and so does me doctor, sometimes within a few minutes.

I would call again, and email again and then I would raise the question of what happend with the slow response... If getting back to you was based on severity of CF I would never get a call back

Let us know what happends I am curious

Hi Jenn. I think you should be a little pushy now. You are going away for a total of 8 days. Anything can happen in that time. Plus how much better and secure you will feel just knowing you have your meds while in Aruba.

It's friday, if you don't recieve a call back by tomorrow afternoon and you don't live far from clinic, I would drive there and ask in person. I would do it for you if i lived near

Other than all that, enjoy your vacation. Hope you have a wonderful time. Take Pictures and i hope to hear from you soon

Take care,
Graves

My CF nurse has on her voicemail she'll return calls within 24 hours, however, there are often times she's not in from Fri-Sun. so, that 24 hours is more like her 24-hours' work day. i.e. I call on Thursday afternoon, she's not in from Fri.-Sun. and she calls back late Monday afternoon (when she routinely returns calls).

It also says on her voicemail to allow 72 hours for Rx refills. What? To me this seems strange. If all I need is a refill and it takes like 5 mins. or less, why would you need a window of 3 business (or her working days) to completel it?? This is the policy of my entire CF clinic though (they all say to allow 72 hours for refills and have it posted throughout the clinic). I think its excessive and it has gotten me into trouble a few times when I've run out and she's off a Friday or Monday and then still takes a few days to process. Its actually usually wose when she's been gone cause she'll have "a mound" of paperwork to go through when she gets back and my message about an Rx is low on the totem pole.

... anyway, I digress.

I think its unacceptable if you've told them you're leaving and need this med urgently. I would also advocate being pushy at this time. Its the only way to get things done sometimes.

Good luck!
