My airways have become really reactive since my pft's have dropped below 40 percent. That may be my issue with the eflow. I really started feeling worse when I started it, so I am concerned.

I am trying the xopenex in the eflow now (Started it today) which my RT says may help me. I'll have to see though. My plans are to see what happens after five days of prednisone. If I seem to be maintaining better lung function after the five days (I check this by monitoring my exercise tolerance, such as how fast I can bike or walk a mile) and it continues for the next couple weeks I will maintain my regimen. If I start feeling worse shortly after stopping the prednisone, I will go on IV's and after the IV's I'm not sure I will go back to the eflow.

Dang it...I didn't want to say anythng because I didn't want to negate the importance of this device, but my experience has taught me it is NOT GOOD for me. I have tried it 3 different times, and each time I have the same result. I ALWAYS end up not being able to breathe within 10 days. It is not my imagination, nor any other medicine that I have started...nothing has changed in my regimine except for the eflow. I would be interested to know if any other people with reactive airway disease are having this same problem. I hope you start feeling better.

THis is very interesting to me! For those who have tried the eflow and had air way restrictions, what is your pfts like? I would assume that the amount of meds being inhaled at one time is so different which is good/bad!

Along those lines, I have wondered if people that are prone to have hemoptysis would have issues with the elfow--just too much, too fast??
I could never take Pulmozyme because it caused hemoptysis, so I really have to wonder how my lungs would have reacted to it w/ the eflow delivery process...
