Thanks so much! It's so good to be able to share good news with other people who truly know how much it means <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> , especially when it seems like all the hard work we do is, at best, to keep things the same, and other times ( the really frustrating and disheartening times), it seems to almost be in vain.

And, I now have half of my "cushion" back; that cushion being the one I lost when I learned (here <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ) that my FCV was not my FEV1 (aheh <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> ). It was just mentally, but still...

I will pm those numbers to you Lauren- I really appreciate your help with that <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> .

My weight is about 120 and I am 5' 1" , so a little bit "fluffier" than the minimum my doctors have said they would like me to be (I am mostly PS, a little less than I used to be), so weight is good, fat to muscle ratio is improving (yea for the year around community college pool!) -thanks for asking <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> !

That's great! Good job!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Question: could someone please explain PFTs and what the percents mean? ie, do all my non CF friends have 100% by default-- is lung function just a CF thing or do all people (CF or not) have verying degrees of lung function?

What I mean is, YES obviously a smoker would perhaps have a reduced lung function, but do all humans have a spectrum? And what if your PFTs are over 100--what does that mean?

I've often wondered how CF compares to smoking as far as lung damage....it's funny, cause my co worker in the next cube (who smokes several packs a day, outside, no worries!) is constantly hacking and coughing. I wonder what her lung function is, and if HER doctor has ever made her do PFTs!
