Clinic Visit

Hey Lisa...

Maybe Max is just going through a growth spurt and his weight didn't catch up yet... Don't be hard on yourself.... I have found especially with preschoolers the more you push an issue the more they will go to the opposite extreme...

You always sound like you do such a great job with Max... How about adding more cream to his creamy milk, I was looking in the freezer section of the food store the other day and the Aunt Jamima breakfast (TV dinner style) breakfast had a little hashbrown, pancakes and sausage and had over 18 grams of fat and close to 1600 calories... It is a tiny little breakfast thing... It floored me....

Remember though weight changes up and down are normal in all kids.... I know you have to be more careful in CFers but don't think it is something you did or didn't do..like I said you seem like you are doing such a great job

Liza,

One added bonus(for us anyway) if you do add the HTS it seemed to increase Maggie's appetite. She just seems more hungry since we started it this past March. Her weight was up last clinic visit and she keeps trying new foods. Could be coincidence but I've noticed a difference. I find I always have to be creative to get all those calories in. Lately, it's hotdogs, she'll even have one for breakfast. Oatmeal luckily she likes lately too, ya can sneak all kinds of high cal stuff in oatmeal. When I get Maggie on the scale at clinic I always make sure I pick out her "heavier" clothes, no t-shirts and shorts on clinic day!(joke)

Rebecca -- If they didn't weigh Alyssa buck naked, I'd be tempted to throw a few rocks in her pockets to weigh her down, LOL!!

Liza -- Sorry to hear he dropped in the percentages. That's always frustrating. But I know with both my non-CF boys, they hit a growth spurt and it thins them out a whole lot for awhile. Growth curves are the big picture, but it can vary a bit in the minute. I'm interested in the hypertonic saline too. Would they take him off the pulmozyme to go on the HTS?
