Clorox disinfecting spray

I just bought this product (similar to Lysol) and on the back it says that it kills Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. Does anyone use this in their house regularly, and if so, has it helped prevent you from getting sick as often? I'm having my doubts, because it almost seems too easy...

Bleach does kill a lot of things... But maybe it only kills 99.99% of psudemonis. ha ha! Those commercials crack me up. Anyway, i don't know.

I do use this product, but wasnt aware of the pseudomonas coverage. I cant answer if it will help in the way you are looking for. I already test for the pseudomonas & have for years. I have never erradicated it completely. I do know that pseudomonas is in dirt & with my dog tracking stuff in the house, I am now glad that I use it for whatever it can do. Since they cant gaurantee 100% of everything, they put 99.9%.

Hey, Melissa (or anyone),

My hubby's going to have tx (soon we hope) and we have two inside dogs (that we get to keep). I've read other post-tx'ers say they keep a bottle of alcohol spray by the front door to disinfect shoes, but I'm kind of worried about the stuff the dogs will carry in. Don't laugh at me -- do you have any suggestions about wiping their feet off - something that would kill germs, but not irritate their skin?

I dont actually wipe my dogs paws off, but before she comes in I walk her around the yard to get more dirt off of her feet. I suppose this isnt a big help, but I was only concerned about the mud she brought in more than the bacteria. Baby wipes should be ok. They are quick, easy, disposable & shouldnt hurt since they are used on baby bottoms. Another thought is to check with a local pet shop. My friends own one where I live. I will try to stop by tomorrow & see if they have anything that is what we are looking for. I'll let you know!

You can use a solution of grapefruit seed extract or tea tree oil (a few drops of GSE or TTO) or vinegar (half a cup or so) in a spray bottle of water. These are OK for the skin and are all anti-microbial. This is much better than spraying a bleach compound into the air of your home. Remember that if you spray it, you will inevitably inhale some of it in the air. Commercial sprays like Lysol and Clorox and whatever else have made the news by how bad they are for people. It is easy to use so many chemicals that your house actually becomes toxic and can make you ill. This has also made the news. Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is everywhere. It is in dirt, water faucets and fountains and basically anything organic. I suppose you could kill it on contact, but the moment you turn on the faucet, it'd be back.

I use Clorox spray. I think it's called Clorox Cleanup. Well it works great. I use it every where (it will bleach fabrics so be very careful). The only down side is that, if I use it in a confined space, (and I'm talking about using a lot of it) I will cough up blood. So be careful. I get so much satisfaction with killing germs. I'm such a nerd!

There are some great pet wipes available as well. We got some at Target, they come in a little package similar to baby wipes. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to use.<img src="i/expressions/nebulizer.gif" border="0">
