My daughter Alayna has been sick for a day or so now. She is sneezing with a large amount of snot coming out. She has a little bit of congestion but I think thats from the drainage. Any others going through this right now?

Jennifer,
My older daughter, Kayla, has a problem with allergies, especially this time of the year (as well as spring). She is allergic to mold and tree pollen...so fall seems to be bad for her for molds and spring for tree pollen. But, with Kayla, her eyes get really itchy and watery and she begins to cough more when her allergies are bugging her. She takes claritin every day to help out. But sometimes even that doesn't help if the counts are way up there!

I would watch Alayna and make sure she doesn't show any other symptoms. And if things don't get better in a few days, it probably wouldn't hurt to put a call into her dr.

By the way, Alayana is just adorable!!!

Absolutely!! I'm not sure where you live, but here in Oklahoma, it's definitely ragweed time. Jordan has been having a lot of trouble with it. He had his annual clinic visit last week, and the doc agreed his problems were mostly allergies.

It wouldn't hurt to increase CPT. Try to keep her well hydrated, and check with your CF doc about a seasonal allergy med. I know there a couple that won't dry her out too much. Good luck.

She currently takes Zyrtec(?) but I just wanted to see if anything else was going around. I will just keep giving her that until I see other symptoms.

Thanks
