Cold Weather

Is warm weather generally better for cf. My health seems to go down hill in the winter time. I hate the cold and generally feel worse after being out in it. It could be that my lungs are just more sensitive these days, since it didn't bother me as a kid.

During the winter I exercise indoors unless the temperature is above 60. I hate windy days too as they make my nose run cause me to cough more.

I live in Maine so I know how you feel. I was told those who live in colder climates get more colds because we are locked indoors with all the germs. I never am in the hospital in the winter it is always late spring or early summer...go figure. But my lungs are very sensitive to the cold weather.

John:

I moved from Massachusetts to California in 1990 and it made a hugh difference in my health. I gained weight, fewer colds, better attitude, much happier!

I always wanted to see if I would do better in a milder climate. Winters were becoming much more difficult for me to deal with and I had the opportunity to relocate so I jumped at the chance. My family members all live in New England, I do miss them but get to visit once and a while here or there. Life is a lot less stressful and more interseting!

The move was the best thing I have ever done for my health!! I live on the coast where the air is very clean. I can be comfortable all year outdoors. No limits to exercise or enjoyment unless I choose them myself.

Best Wishes!!
