Colistin

Does anyone get sob after taking colistin?
I do, so I decided to try taking my advair AFTER colistin instead of before. It make a world of difference. Should give it a try.

I would ALWAYS get s.o.b after colistin (which smells like cat pee btw ) but what I decided to do was take my colistin first and then do my xopenex to help me with that...seemed to work just fine as if I had done the xopenex first then colistin last

You really need to take a bronchodilator first, then Colistin. This is because you need to open the airways as much as possible so that the Colistin gets as deep as possible into the lungs. Otherwise it isn't going to be very effective. In other words, it won't reach the very bugs it's trying to kill. If you mention your SOB to your doctor, they can give you a routine so that you can take a bronchodilator first, the Colistin, then a different kind of bronchodilator after. Colistin and Tobi can be very irritating which swells the airways causing the SOB symptoms, which by the way is asthma.

While Colistin does not affect me in that way (knock on wood), I am curious as to how many mLs of Colistin you draw back to inhale?
