I started Colistinin January and have had no side effects and it works really great on me! It does have a bad taste kinda like soapy barf but now I can not even taste it. I also get it from Foundation Care Pharmacy cause they premix it for you so there is no mixing of it on my own. I just open up the ampule and put it into my TRIO. It is great!

I am working with the Foundation Care Pharmacy to get the TRIO. Does it really take only 2-3 minutes? The prospect of that is amazing to me since I already take about 3 hours of treatments a day and work full time. Thanks

The colistin does take only a short time like 2-3 minutes especially if you only use the TRIO metal head for Colistin only. Now if you use the metal head for Albuterol too then it can go up to 10 minutes, but still way shorter than if you use the Pari LC Plus. You will like it. Good luck!

When people are mixing their colistin do they use a syringe and needle to add the saline and then extract the mixed solution or do you pop the rubber lid off and add saline in like that? I ask cos for years I did the syringe method but one day I realised how easy it was to pop the lid off and now I don't have any need for syringes! But I wonder is it not correct?

this is how i mix my colistin. i take 6ml of sterile water, then inject it in the colistin vial. i pull out the needle, and shake the colistin vial to mix it up. then i pull 3ml of colistin out and put it in my eflow. i then throw away the remaining colistin and the left over sterile water.

I've done it both ways, I don't think either is more correct than the other. I prefer to inject and then take it out with the syringe because I have issues popping the top off. I remember when I was little, albuterol came in those kinds of bottles. You didn't get syringes with it, so you had to pop the top off and just pour it into the neb.
