Coll not allowed to log in

Colleen (NoDayButToday) just tried to log on and received a message saying she was banned from the forum because her father is an idiot?

What is going on here?

It is bizarre. Worse than that, Coll's in tears over it.

To my knowedge, her father (we're divorced) isn't even on the website! Even if he was, what does that have to do with punishing Colleen?

I emailed the administrator but have not received a reply. I am very angry about this.

notice my comment about attempting to justify this. I would consider creating a new id for Colleen, creating a password that "dad" would not know and keep her account for her. I agree, sounds harsh but I can understand if Dad plays colleen.

Her dad doesn't know her password, doesn't sign on as her, doesn't even know about the website. We don't even live with him (and haven't for 14 years).


The issue is the weird message Coll received about being banned:

"You're banned from posting because your father is an idiot"

I was having trouble "signing in" a while back and I sent a message to the administrator that went ignored everytime I sent it. I must have sent 10-15 e-mails advising I couldn't sign in/forgot my password (because I never signed in) and I NEVER received a response. Finally I just went through every possible password I ever used until I got it right, then I wrote it down because I know I can't get web support from here. So, IMO you might want to think of an alternative. But I hope you hear something back from them soon cause that's ridiculous.

In fact there were some weird goings on in the teenager section earlier. Some guy wanting to stir things up posted and some one (I think impersonating julie) replied signed as julie, but it all looked suspicious to me! That guy was banned by the way..this all is a bit strange!

Thanks Shamrock - I'll do that (although the administrator was listed as being on when I first posted and didn't reply).

Were you banned from logging in or banned from posting? If so, what reason was given? Thanks.

Logging in. Apparently I had 'invalid credentials' It took ages, so I opened a new account Shamrock2, but then they sent me a new password. Send my love to Coll, x

Shamrock, Coll is allowed to log in but banned from posting. I'm not even sure creating a new name would help. Thanks, Kathy

Oh I get it, so if she created a new account, they'd know it was her and ban her again? Its so ridiculous, the whole thing!

That is so weird. Whats up with the administrators? Is there a person on here Coll knows that might be mad at her for some odd reason and also is an admin? I dont think the ones that are admin tell anyone if they are. Can she come on as annon?

Who would be mad at Coll? : )) Seriously I don't think it could be that - in general she hasn't been on much at all this summer because she's with her friends all the time.

The entire thing is very weird and very upsetting.

After getting the weird ban message, she called me in tears. I don't think she even tried to see if she could post as anonymous; I doubt she would want to, however.
