Hello!

I live with 3 other people (they all know I have CF, so that makes doing treatments and everything easier) but luckily we've been able to all have a great realationship! We definitely have lots of air freshener, but also, the way I feel is, it's a bathroom So I may take some more time in there than other people - and use the air freshener more. Courtesy flushes go a long way too. I know I'm not being too helpful, but feel free to message me at any point!

Hey Sawyer,

I'm not sure what type of building you'll be living in, but see if there is a public restroom in it!! There is usually always a public bathroom on the first floor and it is hardly ever used since everyone has rooms within their apartments. This was a huge help to me - especially when I lived with four girls with one bathroom. If I needed to go to the bathroom pronto, and a girl was in there taking a shower... well, I needed to make other arrangements.

I even still use this idea... I work full time, and if my stomach hurts and I just want to be in the bathroom longer and not be bothered - I'll find a seldom used bathroom (ie, the bathroom near the cafeteria when it isn't lunchtime...)

Good luck!

dont be a shamed....poop on ....the smellier the better I say....if your pooping then you dont have a bowel obstruction which is more painful than listening to your roommate</end quote>

This cracked me up!!! Hahaha.

I know some of you are against using your CF as a crutch. And I am too in MOST cases, but in some, I think we deserve special treatment, like when it comes to our poop! When I was living in the dorms, I submitted a letter to the school decribing my disease and need for privacy. Because of that, I got my own room without paying extra, and it was a handicapped room with it's own bathroom. I also got a room with an air conditioner, which did not come standard (especially in Freshman dorms). It is worth a shot, and mine carried over for the 3 years I lived on campus. I always pooped in peace.
