I'm taking colomycin with three weeks and have a really bad cough. the type where you keep coughing till you nearly throw up! Its keeping me awake at night too. do you think its from colomycin or a new infection?

Its most likely infection. I have never had a medicine (to my knowledge) make me cough till i almost throw up.... but when i get an infection "flare-up" i do cough till i throw up sometimes. You might want to ask your Dr. but it sounds to me like its the infection doing what it does....irritating your lungs.

It's possible you're having some problems with the colistin- it can cause bronchospasms in some people. I'd get checked out for an infection first, to rule it out, and then discuss whether you're having spasms from the colistin.
