i have taken both i.v. and inhaled colostin i have had no trouble with either. the inhaled is stickier than most my inhaled meds. the i.v. one i am not allergic to, so i had no weird side effects. as for effectiveness that would of course depend on his individual cultures, but it did seem effective for me for a short while. nowadays i am practically resistant to everything <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I used to do one month Tobi and one month Colistimethate until I became resistant to Tobi and now I do Colist with a neb twice a day for the last six moths and it seems to work. Tumbleweed, I am in the same boat and resistant to almost everything out there.

i've never done IV colistin but i had a terrible time with the inhaled and it actually made me worse and was very irratating to my airways...i havn't heard of other people having problems with the inhaled version though so maybe thats just me.... i was put on it because i needed something to keep my pfts up during my off tobi months....oh well

hope things get better for dan! I did my fair share of IVs during college and they are no fun and totally mess up your social life! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
