I used to be on Colymycin. I hated it. I hated it so much I don't take it anymore. I felt like total crap. It would irritate me where I coughed all the time. It seems like I too had an issue with it once I started Tobi. I wonder what causes that?

my airways reacted really badly to colistin. they were so tight and i couldn't stop coughing to the point of being sick most days. i didn't sleep through the night for the entire week i was on it before i called the doc and went in to do pfts and found out i had actually lost ground while on it. so we nixed my using it....i'm sorry you're having troubles with it... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
mine also came as a powder i mixed right before i nebbed it...

Thanks for all the replies. I hate to not use it, at one time it was really good for me and I improved so much when I was on it. I too mix mine for each dose with sterile water, I use 4cc of water. Jennifer, that is interesting that you also had trouble with it after you used Tobi. Coly doesn't make me cough more, just feel tight and short of breath all day. I am going to talk to my Doctor about this, see what he says. I am getting a CT scan of the ol' lungs thursday, trying to find out what is going on down there. My CF doctor didn't mention any other options in place of coly-mycin. I don't know that there are any options.
