i went to the doctor today and got bad news. they are going to try and put off until after the holidays, but it looks like i'm going to have iv's after the new year. <img src="i/expressions/iv.gif" border="0"> it really bums me out cause i haven't had them in 2 years. they are going to have me try inhaling tobi, but i have told them since i started going to this doctor that inhaling tobi gives me really bad headaches, but they don't believe me. so i'm kinda mad at that. but it just sucks, but i guess i just kinda have to suck it up and deal with it. and my doctor's office is like 2 1/2 hours away from where i live, so no comforts of home until i get out of prison. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> cf just sucks sometimes~

I was in hospital for 1 night and then demanded to go home (long story - local hospital doesn't know how to deal w/ CF and my CF doc is almost 4 hours away). I've done home IVs in the past and now that I have Logan it would be the only way I'd do IVs unless gravely ill. But I know mother's w/ CF that like to go in the hospital as a sort of break. Hope the Tobi works w/ no headaches and you can avoid the IVs. I'm completely terrified of having to be hospitalized at my CF center since it is so far away. We have competent docs 15 minutes away but the local children's hospital decided they weren't going to treat anyone over 18 anymore so us CF patients were basically screwed since we don't have a local adult doc.

yea i will definetly demand to go home. i hate being in the hospital period, i don't even like going to the doctor's office for an appt. they said that because it's my first time having iv's up here i'll have to be in for a few days. but i will defintely make them let me go home. i can admister the iv's better than the nurses most of the time anyways (that always gave me a laugh that we know how to do it better than them). i'm just hoping i won't have to have them, but we are preparing anyways. i'll miss my babies too much (my dog and two cats). those are my babies for now, until we have a new one in june! keeping my fingers crossed.
